Additional comments:
I am a Marine & Fisheries Scientist with Ascension Island Government. The encounter was brief, it was a male whale shark and appeared to be feeding in the surface waters. Only myself and one other observed in the water for approximately 10 minutes. No obvious scars or distinguishing features.
